Intern - Software Developer – Hong Kong
"Global Futures and Options Ltd (GFO-X)”, a UK FCA-authorised and regulated MTF, is seeking an Intern - Software Developer to join our growing team in Hong Kong.
GFO-X is the UK's first regulated and centrally cleared trading venue dedicated to digital asset derivatives. GFO-X has partnered with LCH SA which will offer clearing of Bitcoin index futures and options contracts traded on GFO-X. This will be made available through a new segregated clearing service, LCH DigitalAssetClear. GFO-X services large global institutional participants who require a regulated, institutional-grade trading venue for digital asset derivatives, including bitcoin index futures and options.
The successful candidate will be joining the software development team in Hong Kong and report to the Head of Software Development. The focus will be on developing an institutional-grade derivative trading venue that has high throughput, low latency, and high availability.
Role
• Penultimate students majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related degree
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
Other:
• Experience in Linux OS performance tuning (kernel hacking, kernel network bypass, NUMA, etc.) is an advantage
• Knowledge of financial products such as derivatives is an advantage
• Experience in C/C++ 14 or later is an advantage
• Proficient with Python is an advantage
• Experience with development tools such as GIT, CI, and issue tracking is an advantage
• Previous exposure to software development methodologies such as SCRUM is an advantage
• Experience in Linux development and network socket programming (TCP/UDP) is an advantage
• Exposure to institutional-grade exchange platform APIs (OUCH, ITCH, FIX, OMEX, etc.) is an advantage
