This is an exciting opportunity to join Barclays as VP Events Marketing Strategist Asia Pacific. You will operate as our sole strategic advisor to influence the businesses on behalf of Events & Hospitality by providing account management services to our stakeholders via detailed analytical ‘reporting’ that shows quarterly and annual trends, spend and the success of agreed business objectives. Based in our Hong Kong office, you will be the go-to contact for internal business partners as you build event plans and programmes in support of our commercial priorities.

To be successful for the role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience:
• Deep experience operating in multiple markets in Asia in Event Management including budgeting, stakeholder and logistics management alongside industry knowledge
• Solid project management skills, experience managing complex projects with excellent communication skills to be impactful and influence stakeholders
• Experience using CRM systems, designing marketing project KPIs and running post project ROI analysis
• Cross-marketing experience including digital marketing, social media, brand, internal/external communications
• Confident, proactive, responsive, enthusiastic and capable of building effective partnerships and networks
• Demonstrates a solid awareness of reputational risk management and escalates appropriately
• Strategic thinker who contributes towards business strategy, team development and morale within the department
• Understanding on how to leverage events as platforms, across all marketing & communication channels, to earn wider brand consideration

Purpose of the role
To operate as a strategic advisor to influence the businesses on behalf of Events by providing account management services to our stakeholders
Accountabilities
• Vision, creation and ownership of assigned Business area annual event plans using innovative solutions in order to support their long term objectives and growth forecast.
• Recommendation and influence over event activity selection via post event in-depth analysis and reporting. Implementation of principle led framework.
• Identification and motivation of new business opportunities by researching new event opportunities potential new clients, having an holistic view across Barclays to enable cross-business area collaboration, networking with industry contacts, and attending industry events.
• Identification and mitigation of potential risks associated with events and knowledge of internal and external risks and controls.
• Development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders which includes meeting with key account holders on a regular basis and building strong partnerships with AEs having a clearly defined purpose and set commercial objectives, providing them with updates on the latest event planning trends and technologies.
• Development and maintenance of strong relationships with key event partners, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring that events are successful, both from a financial and reputational standpoint, by aligning event goals with business objectives.
• Development and maintenance of industry relationships with suppliers and event and hospitality experts to stay at the forefront of industry trends, technology.
Vice President Expectations
• To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
• If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements..
