Job Description
The Head of Marketing & Communications is responsible for devising and executing corporate branding strategies to ensure a strong and consistent brand presence across all communication platforms. As the functional leader, the Director will oversee corporate communication standards by establishing guidelines to maintain a cohesive and professional brand image.
A core element of the role is to support senior executives in their communications, including social media content generation, speeches, media coordination, and multimedia assets. You will manage relationships with media outlets and journalists, overseeing external media services like PR agencies and media monitoring. The position requires developing key messages, ensuring consistent communication across stakeholders, and identifying sponsorship opportunities aligned with the organization's goals. You will develop protocols and manage official visits involving government officials and industry stakeholders, as well as occasionally large events and crisis responses.
To enhance the organization's brand profile, the Director will lead the Digital Marketing team to optimize of digital marketing performance through social media, content marketing, online advertising, and data analytics.
You will carry out the above duties through leveraging the department's staff, which is divided into teams including corporate communications, media relations, marketing & branding, corporate social responsibilities (CSR), etc.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should possess a recognized degree in fields such as Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline, along with at least 12 years of experience in public and corporate communications, preferably in large organizations or public bodies. Strong leadership in marketing and promotion, with expertise in digital media, brand management, PR, media relations, and handling issues and crisis management, is essential. The role requires someone with the ability to confidently communicate with senior management, government officials, stakeholders, and media, as well as experience in collaborating with agencies and consultants. Success in content strategy, social media, digital platforms, creative design, advertising, videography, infographics, media partnerships, sponsorships, and event management is crucial. The candidate should demonstrate independence, motivation, proactiveness, and a solution-oriented mindset, combined with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. Experience in organizing tasks, leading teams, and delivering results on time and within budget is also necessary. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua, is required.
