Job Description

The Assistant Director will lead the team in enhancing the University's branding and marketing efforts, aiming to improve its reputation among key stakeholders. This position involves managing the Branding and Marketing team under the Director of Communications, with a focus on executing branding campaigns, managing social media, creating digital content, and organizing events to effectively promote the University's image.

The Assistant Director will lead the team to ensure marketing and branding efforts are aligned with positioning of the University. For brand communications and marketing execution, the appointee will develop and implement comprehensive brand communication plans and marketing activities. These initiatives will highlight the University's strengths and build brand awareness and preference, both locally and internationally, with a strong emphasis on digital and social media platforms.

The role also involves social media and digital content management, including the creation and execution of a strategic social media plan to enhance the University's online presence, engage audiences, and build brand loyalty. The Assistant Director will oversee the development of digital content that aligns with the University's branding goals and resonates with target audiences. This includes transforming the University's objectives into creative content across various formats, such as dynamic graphics, engaging videos, and interactive presentations.

Regarding event planning and coordination, the Assistant Director will work directly with junior members of events team to organize and execute events, which includes management of logistics, VIP visits, invitations, and RSVPs, while ensuring that consistent messaging and branding are reflected in all event materials. These events will aim to create memorable experiences that enhance the University's brand narrative.

Additionally, the Assistant Director will handle performance tracking and budget management by monitoring and reporting on branding campaigns, evaluating their effectiveness, and managing marketing budgets. They will provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement, particularly in the areas of digital and social media, to ensure that the University remains innovative and impactful in its branding efforts.

The Successful Applicant

Applicants should possess a recognized degree and have at least fifteen (15) years of experience in relevant areas. They should demonstrate proven expertise in branding and marketing, with a strong emphasis on executing branding campaigns, developing digital content strategies, and managing social media platforms effectively.

Candidates should also have a demonstrated track record in event management and storytelling, supported by strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent planning and project management abilities are essential, along with the capability to analyze data and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making and strategy.

The ideal candidate will exhibit creative thinking, combined with a strategic mindset, and be adept at working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, applicants must have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua considered an advantage.
